VAN Northwest: Reimagined and Reinspired!

Picture1There are some exciting changes in the world of VAN Northwest! After a wonderful conference in June with a call to action by the great Betty Stallings, many people indicated an interest in participating on the VAN Steering Committee. During our July meeting, we took the opportunity to nominate and select committee members. It’s a wonderful time for new volunteer managers to get involved and longtime volunteer managers to get reinspired with new roles. We are happy to make the following announcements:

Officers

  • Steering Committee Chair: Lisa Yeager
  • Secretary: Jane Deer Hileman
  • Treasurer: Jennifer Teeler

Other committee positions

  • Professional Gatherings – Alex Ropes, Carol Ryan, and Belina Van
  • United Way Liason – Alice Fong
  • Corporate Volunteer Council Representative – Kimberly Jacobsen and Belina Van
  • Blog & Social Media – Michelle Winters and Nikki Russell
  • Facebook – Alex Ropes and Lindsey Ismailova
  • Webmaster – Nikki Russell

Our team is excited to carry forward the mission of VAN and empower volunteer managers! If you are interested in getting involved, email us at connect@vannw.org.

How Do We Measure Volunteer Engagement?

How Do We Measure Volunteer Engagement?

The most recent VAN Professional Gathering focused on Volunteer Engagement:  How to Keep Volunteers Engaged?  I missed this one, but it’s a topic I think about a lot about.  Engagement is at the heart of what we do as volunteer managers (or leaders of volunteer engagement).  It is also the “art” of what we do.  […]
