I’m looking to create a Group Volunteer Referral list within the Puget Sound. I want to help connect eager volunteer groups to organizations that can accomodate group volunteer sessions (10+ volunteers). At Food Lifeline, our group volunteer sessions are often booked 2-3 months out and I hate to turn willing groups away…I’d rather pass them along to another wonderful organization.
I hope you will take a few minutes to complete the Doodle poll I created.
www.doodle.com/ehrbmhap4hvr9grx (poll closes on April 1st)
*Questions include general group size limitations, youth friendly, indoor vs. outdoor, etc. Please leave comments on the poll with further details on locations, etc.
Once the poll is closed, I will create a combined list and share it via the VAN Blog/Website. The list will be of basic information you could pass on to groups to follow-up.
Feel free to leave comments on this post but please complete the online poll to have your information included in the combined referral document. www.doodle.com/ehrbmhap4hvr9grx (closes April 1st)
Thanks, Erin

Great idea Erin. I would also recommend anyone who is interested in hosting volunteer groups (in King County) list their volunteer opportunities on the United Way of King County Volunteer Center website (www.uwkc.org/volunteer). We regularly match volunteer groups of all sizes (usually corporate groups from local companies) with local nonprofits, and are always looking for new partners to refer volunteers to. Nonprofits can list their volunteer opportunities on our website and prospective volunteers can search the site and contact Volunteer Managers directly.
